Ananda Group was established in 1983 by Dr. Abdullahel Bari FARINA. Today the Group has marked as a leading enterprise in Bangladesh. Ananda Group’s first concern is Ananda Builders Ltd, began in 1983. Its businesses include shipbuilding, engineering, textiles, real estate, PVC bag mills, Marine design & consultancy, shipping, information technology etc.

Ananda Group’s most renowned concern is Ananda Shipyard & Slipways Ltd, the largest ship yards in the private sector of Bangladesh. This is an ISO 9001:2008 certificated company, established in 1999 as a private limited company. Ananda Shipyard & Slipways Limited was converted to a public limited company on December 20, 2009. For its outstanding contribution in the field of exporting, the Company won the National Export Trophy Gold 2009-2010.

The Chairman of Ananda Group is Dr. Abdullahel Bari FARINA. Abdullahel Bari earned his BSc Engineering in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering from BUET, PhD (Shipbuilding) from Newcastle University, UK in 1982. He is the Fellow of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects (FRINA), UK, and also a Chartered Engineer (CEng), UK.
