Bangladesh Debate Federation (BDF) is the premier and largest debating organization of Bangladesh. The Debate Federation was established in 1991. It is a registered organization with the Ministry of Youth & Sports, Government of the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh. Since its inception, Dr. Abdun Noor Tushar, currently the President of BDF has been incessantly contributing for promotion of this organization. The Federation is unremittingly working to promote, popularize and diffuse the art of speaking and the skill of debating throughout the country.
In 1991, Bangladesh Debate Federation arranges, for the first time, debating workshop to train debaters and adjudicators in the country. In 1992 and 2001, it had sent first school team to participate in debate program at World School Debating Championship (WSDC). BDF arranged the first Debate Festival in Bangladesh in 1994 which is now arranging bi-annually. Being the biggest central debating organization of Bangladesh, it has been witnessed with many debating events in national and international arena. Besides national horizon, now, Bangladesh Debate Federation has representation and participation at international level. The Organization is managed by an Executive Committee (EC), headed by a President.
