Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited (BTCL) is a state owned telecommunication company in Bangladesh. Its former name was Bangladesh Telegraph and Telephone (BTTB). BTTB was converted into BTCL on 1st July 2008, and became a Public Limited Company. The key function of BTCL is to provide telecommunication services in all over the country. Having obtained the largest infrstructure throughout the country, BTCL has been providing telephone service nearly to one million subscribers. Besides, it also provides internet services across the country. In order to provide outstanding services to its subscribers, BTCL takes the following licenses from BTRC (Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission): PSTN, IGW, ICX, IIG and ISP. Currently, Md. Abubakar Siddique is the Chairman of BTCL.
