Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP) is the national highest sports institute of Bangladesh. The Institute is mostly known as BKSP. Its previous name was Bangladesh Institute of Sports which was established in 1976. In 1983, the name Bangladesh Institute of Sports was converted to Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP) and become a self-governing organization. Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan refers to Bangladesh Sports Education Institute. The main objective of this Institute is to create skilled player through proper education and training and develop sports in Bangladesh.
Apart from the main branch in Dhaka, BKSP has a number of associate regional training centers in different divisions of Bangladesh including Chittagong, Barishal, Khulna, Rajshahi, Sylhet etc. Though the Institute was established in 1983, it started coaching and academic programmes from April 14, 1986. Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan offers short and long term training programmes for the players.
Moreover, since 1986, BKSP has been providing different training programmes and facilities for the national teams of Cricket, Football, Hockey, Athletics, Kabaddi, Swimming, Boxing, Tennis and more. In order to create sports related proficient students, BKSP yearly admits students in different areas of sports, and offers scientific training programmes for them. The Chairman of Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP) is the Minister of Ministry of Youth & Sports of Bangladesh Government.
