Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club (also known as Mohammedan Sporting Club or Mohammedan S.C.) is one of the oldest & renowned sporting clubs in Bangladesh. The Club was formed in 1933, and its headquarters is located in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It has also a number of local branches all over the country. Apparently, Dhaka Mohammedan was a part of the Calcutta Mohammedan. After the “Partition of Bengal” in 1947, Mohammad Shahjahan, a prominent football player of Calcutta Mohammedan, came to Dhaka and took the responsibility to form the Dhaka Mohammedan. Actually, the Club was come to force after a few star players and an official of “Dhaka Wanderers’ Club” joined in Dhaka Mohammedan in 1956. Since then, the Club has been dominating in the games and sports section mainly in football, cricket, hockey, swimming, volleyball, table tennis, athletics, badminton and more. Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club has a good reputation in Football section. Since 1957 to 1999, the club became the Football League Championship for fifteen times and, also became the runners up for twelve times during the same period. Besides, Dhaka Mohammedan obtained the championship title for five times in the Federation Cup Football. Apart from all these, Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club has lots of glorious reputations in football, cricket and other sports.
