Founded in 1997, Association of Bankers, Bangladesh Limited (ABBD) is an organization of Bankers of Bangladesh. At current, the Association has been playing vital role towards the Banking Industry. Mr. Lutfar Rahman Sarker, the former Managing Director of Prime Bank Ltd, is pioneer in founding this Association. Its former name was 'Bankers Club Limited.' On 18 December 2003, the name changed to Association of Bankers, Bangladesh Ltd . The aim of this Association is to develop relationship among the bankers and talk over the issues related to Banks. Currently, along with retired Banker, the Association holds more than 135 members. In order to be a member of this Association, one must hold the designation of Senior Vice President (SVP) from any Bank of Bangladesh.
