Bangladesh Mahila Parishad (BMP) is an influential women's human rights organization in Bangladesh, established on April 4, 1970. The Organization is registered with the NGO Affairs Bureau, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. BMP is a non-stop Voice of women of Bangladesh. Bangladesh Mahila Parishad was set out under the valorous leadership of Sufia Kamal, a Bangladeshi renowned poet, freedom fighter, feminist and pioneer political activist.
Since its initiation to till now, the Organization has been persistently working for the advancement of women of Bangladesh. It promotes the status of women, empowers women and upholds the values of equality of women in Bangladesh. Bangladesh Mahila Parishad is a member of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) since 1997.
