Association of Mobile Telecom Operators of Bangladesh (AMTOB) was established in 2001 as the prime organization of all mobile telecom operators in Bangladesh. It has emerged as the apex trade body of mobile phone operators in the country. AMTOB creates unique voice regarding the issues of mobile telecom industry of Bangladesh. The organization is working for growth of the country's mobile telecom sector.
As a leading trade body of the mobile telecom operators, it interacts with government, non-government, national and international organizations regarding various issues for the interest of its members as well as the development this sector. Association of Mobile Telecom Operators of Bangladesh provides a forum for discussion and exchange of ideas between the stakeholders and industry actors for boosting of mobile telecom industry through public private dialogue.
AMTOB includes all the country’s leading mobile operators – Grameenphone, Banglalink, Robi, Airtel, Teletalk and Citycell – as its general members; and ERICSSON, HUAWEI, ZTE are its associate members. The current Chairman of AMTOB is Mr. Ziad Shatara, CEO at Banglalink Digital Communications Ltd.
