Bangladesh Institute of ICT in Development (BIID) is an ICT market development initiative founded in 2008 mainly to provide and promote Information and Communication Technology (ICT) based services in Bangladesh. BIID is providing ICT services and solutions to both public and private sector. With the help of ICTs, the Institute plays a very significant role in the development of economic and social sector of Bangladesh.
As a ICT service provider, BIID supports in various projects of Grameen Phones (GP) and Community Information Center (CIC). In September 2008, Bangladesh Institute of ICT in Development launched “e-Krishok”, to deliver agriculture based information to the Farmers of Bangladesh. The Institute has many significant contributions in various public (Government and NGO) and private projects.
With the help of ICTs, it vastly contributes in agriculture, education, e-information, tourism, health, MSME and more. Bangladesh Institute of ICT in Development envisions becoming the market leader in ICT for Development (ICT4D) sector by providing different ICT related services to public and private’s institutions, organizations, companies, industries etc.
