Bangladesh Institute of Sports Sciences (BISS) is a privately held sports sciences and sports medicine institute in Bangladesh. The institute is promoting education, research, training and treatment mainly for better health and improvement of the sportsman in Bangladesh. BISS was established in 1978 by its current president Prof. Dr. Mohammad Zubayer, a freedom fighter and a reputed Medical professional in Bangladesh, as Bangladesh Academy of Sports Sciences which later, in 2005, renamed as Bangladesh Institute of Sports Sciences (BISS). Since 1986, BISS has affiliation with International Council of Sport Science and Physical Education (ICSSPE).
Every year, the institute draws foreign experts, from multi-discipline backgrounds having depth knowledge on sports sciences and medicine, to conduct courses and training and to provide lectures on relevant fields. Since 2009, Bangladesh Institute of Sports Sciences has been organizing different Sports Science Courses collaboration with national and international faculty. BISS is helping and providing knowledge to human beings and sportspersons to achieve highest possible sports performance.
