Bangladesh Tanners Association (BTA) is a tread body of the tannery owners of Bangladesh. The Association was established in 1963. It is registered under the companies Act 1913. Bangladesh Tanners Association came to light by the dynamic initiatives of a number of respectable persons of Hazaribagh area who were involved in tanner business. Hazaribagh in Dhaka is renowned for tannery business in Bangladesh. Currently, the tannery factories are now shifting from Hazaribagh to Savar Leather Industrial Park. However, BTA is representing leather and leather products industries in Bangladesh. It looks after the issues of tannery owners/industries in the country. Bangladesh Tanners Association is run by an Executive Committee, headed by a Chairman. Md. Shaheen Ahmed is the present Chairman of BTA.
