Chittagong Independent University (CIU) is a UGC and Government approved renowned private university located at the heart of Jamal Khan, Chittagong (Officially Chattogram), Bangladesh. It has highly qualified full-time faculty members from the USA, UK and Australia. CIU (then known as IUB Chittagong Campus) was a part of Independent University Bangladesh (IUB), established in 1999.

Due to legislative changes, the IUB Chittagong Campus converted to a distinct private university as Chittagong Independent University (CIU), approved by University Grants Commission (UGC) and Bangladesh Govt., under the Private Universities Act 2010. It obtained approbation on 6th February 2013. The University follows American curriculum in its education system. It has been providing a number of standard facilities like – high-quality labs and library facilities, WiFi facilities in whole campus, e-resources and archives facilities, credit transfer facilities in foreign universities, scholarship and more.

Admission Eligibility for Undergraduate Programs:
* Minimum GPA of 3.00 both in SSC & HSC (for the sons and daughters of Freedom Fighters need a total GPA of 5.00 in SSC & HSC)
* O Level in 5-subject with GPA 2.50 & A Level in 2-subjects with GPA 2.00
* Math & Physics must for the Engineering students in their HSC/Equivalent Level
* GED with SSC/O Level

Admission Eligibility for Graduate Program (MBA):
* A 3-year Bachelor Degree from reputed university, and at least 1 (one) year working experience in a managerial/executive position or 4-year Bachelor Degree from reputed university. Working experience after graduation in a managerial or executive position will get prefer.
*At least CGPA 2.50 at undergraduate/graduate level with no 3rd Division/Class in any previous public examination.
* Eligible score in the CIU Admission Test OR Score of 500+ in GMAT
