Asian University for Women (AUW) is the first liberal arts university for women in South Asia. AUW was established in 2006, and started its operations in March 2008. The University is located at Pahartali in Chittagong, Bangladesh. Asian University for Women is one of the two international universities in Bangladesh, the other one is Islamic University of Technology. AUW accepts students currently from 16 countries including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, Canada, China, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Palestine, Sri Lanka, and Vietnam. It follows American-style education in all of its procedures.

Currently, Asian University for Women (AUW) offers seven undergraduate majors:
1. Asian Studies (B.A.)
2. Biology Sciences (B.Sc.)
3. Environmental Sciences (B.Sc.)
4. Politics, Philosophy & Economics (B.A.)
5. Public Health Studies (B.Sc.)
6. Computer Science/Information and Communication Technology (CS/ICT) (B.S.), and
7. Economics (B.A.)

Admission Criteria:
- To have completed HSC/A Level or equivalent high school diploma
- To have demonstrated leadership protential and a commitment to work for possitive social change.
- To have received an average of 60% or equivalent grades in final board examinations, including minimum scores of 60% in both the English and Mathematics exams.
