University of South Asia is a Govt. & University Grants Commission (UGC) approved private university in Bangladesh since 2003. University of South Asia at Banani in Dhaka was founded by Professor Dr. M A Matin (November 13, 1937 – June 12, 2012), was an influential politician of Bangladesh, who had been elected four times (respectively in 1979, 1986, 1988 and 2001) as the Member of Parliament (MP) in Bangladesh. Professor Matin was also the Vice- Chancellor (VC) of the University of South Asia, Dhaka, Bangladesh. The current Vice-Chancellor (VC) of this university is Prof. Dr. A. H. Syedur Rahman, and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Pro-VC) is Prof. Dr. Mohammad Muhit.
