Bangladesh National Woman Lawyers' Association (BNWLA) was established in 1979 as a woman lawyers’ organization working for equal opportunities and rights particularly for disadvantaged women and children in Bangladesh. BNWLA is based in Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh. The association is also recognized as a leading Human Rights organization in the country. It is also working for promoting and protecting the rights and status of women lawyers.
Bangladesh National Women Lawyers Association puts forward its recommendations in policy formulation to the government & international bodies regarding women & children rights issues. In addition to it, BNWLA is involved in various activities (like prevention, protection, awareness building, advocacy, rehabilitation etc) for overall developments of women and children in Bangladesh. The affairs of this association are managed by an Executive Committee. The President of Bangladesh National Women Lawyers Association (BNWLA) is Advocate Fawzia Karim Firoze, and its Executive Director is Advocate Salma Ali.
