National Institute of Mass Communication (NIMC) is a leading training institute in Bangladesh providing training on various courses related to the Mass communication. NIMC was established in 1980 mainly to provide training to the officers of Bangladesh Betar and Bangladesh Television. Today the institute is providing training to the officials of BCS information services, non-cadre officers, freelancers, and private radio, television and film media personnel. Its former name was ‘National Broadcasting Academy’. In 1984, National Broadcasting Academy was converted into National Institute of Mass Communication or NIMC, and run under the Ministry of Information, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. The National Institute of Mass Communication of Bangladesh has a library having nearly 3000 books, 20 national dailies, magazines and journals. NIMC offers basic course, short course, special course and collaborative course. It also arranges workshops, seminars and conferences related to its arena.
