Foreign Investors' Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) is a business organization of the foreign investors in Bangladesh. FICCI was established in 1963 as Agrabad Chamber of Commerce, Chittagong which afterward changed to Foreign Investors' Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) in 1987. At present, the Chamber is located at Banani in Dhaka, Bangladesh. FICCI now comprises a total of 182 members. The members of this Chamber are involved in contributing for economic strength of Bangladesh.
Foreign Investors' Chamber of Commerce & Industry Bangladesh promotes and protects business interests of its members. It also provides support, assistance, and advice to the government of Bangladesh in promoting Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). The Chamber deals with the issues related to FDI in addition to playing a significant role in attracting foreign investments to Bangladesh. FICCI members have provided employment to more than 160,000 people.
It has been enlisted at Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FBCCI) as an ‘A’ class Chamber. The Chamber is also a founder member of ICC Bangladesh. It maintains close communications with the International Trade Center (ITC), and World Trade Organization (WTO).
FICCI offers two types of memberships – Ordinary Membership (for those Companies/Firms who have invested at least 50% foreign share in Bangladesh), and Associate Membership (for those who have invested less than 50% but not less than 20% foreign share).
