Mangrove Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) was established in 2005 as a private polytechnic institute located at Baikali in Khulna, Bangladesh. MIST is the first Private Polytechnic Institute in Khulna. The Institute started functioning from June 26, 2005. It has affiliation with Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB). As one of the best polytechnic institutes, it is creating skilled human recourses through providing technical education in the Country.

Mangrove Institute of Science & Technology has owned a permanent campus where it built a 5-story building having 26000 square feet space. At present, MIST has 85 teachers and staffs. It has more than 1,760 students of whom Diploma Engineering students are 1,460 and rest belongs to short courses. S. M. Saiful Islam is the Managing Director, and Mahmud Hossain Shaikh is the Founder Chairman of Mangrove Institute of Science and Technology.

Primary Admission Requirements in Diploma in Engineering Courses:
* SSC/Equivalent with minimum GPA 2.50 (from all sections like Science, Arts, Commerce, Technical, and Open University as well)
