Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB) is the statutory apex body of all the technical & vocational institutes in Bangladesh. The primary objectives of the BTEB are to organize, supervise, regulate, control and develop technical and vocational education in the Country. The Board was established in 1960, named East Pakistan Technical Education Board, through the Act No. 1 of 1967 of the then East Pakistan. After the Independence of Bangladesh the Board renamed as “Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB)”.
As an apex body of all the technical and vocational institutes, Bangladesh Technical Education Board has to conduct and regulate examination; create and distribute result, academic transcript and certificates; grant recognition for education institutions; grant diploma courses; observer all the affiliated institutes and teaching-learning activities; regulate and take decision for all administrative matters; and after all, it has to monitor all the activities and take appropriate decision based on importance for the development of Technical Education in Bangladesh.
