Aranya is a craft organization in Bangladesh working with natural dyes. Aranya was founded by Ruby Ghuznavi. Aranya Craft started its commercial journey in 1990. It promotes the fine craft traditions of Bangladesh. Aranya provides outstanding design of products, and quality control training. It uses block print, and Asian craft techniques to enrich its collection. Aranya uses hand-dyed yarn in silk, cotton and other blended yarns; woven and embroidered in traditional saris, fabrics, accessories, ready-wear, and a wide range of home textiles. It seeks to promote the commercial and ecological benefits of natural dyes. Aranya has provided training to many artisans and craft organizations throughout the country. It has conducted many training workshops in India, Pakistan, Malaysia, Nepal, Bhutan, Turkey, etc. Aranya has been managed by the Bengal Foundation since 2011.
At present, Aranya has two showrooms in Banani, and Dhanmondi. The Dhanmondi Showroom was opened on 5 July 2013. Its products include – Ladies (Readywear, Saree, T Shirt, Shawl, Tops, etc.), Gents (Shirt, Panjabi), Jewelry, Accessories, CDs & Books, Household, Fabric, etc. Aranya (Bangladesh) is a member of World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO).
