Grameen Telecom Trust (GTT) has been involved in social business activities since its establishment in 2010. The Chairman of Grameen Telecom Trust is Nobel Laureate Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus, the founder of Grameen Bank and pioneer of the concepts of microcredit and microfinance. GTT is responsible for building and promoting social business and services based on the Social Business concerns and platforms set up by Professor Yunus. It envisions in achieving a world without poverty. Grameen Telecom Trust's key focuses are given on following areas – Healthcare, Education, Industrial Parks, and Environment. It is contributing in poverty alleviation through providing technical and financial assistance primarily to disadvantage people and involve them in socio-economic activities.
