Gram Bikash Sangstha (GBS) is a non-governmental organization (NGO) in Bangladesh. The Organization is registered with the department of Social Welfare and NGO Affairs Bureau, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. GBS was established in the year 1991. The NGO is based on the northern part of Bangladesh. Principal Md. Abdur Rouf is the Chairman of Gram Bikash Sangstha. Its Head Office is situated at Gabtali upazila, Bogra.
The NGO promotes its activities targeting rural and disabled people of the society. It is working to improve socio-economic condition of the debilitated, deprived, under privileged and vulnerable group or people of the society. It undertakes long & short term projects/development programmes related to health, education, human rights, housing, Micro-credit, milk market development, rehabilitation, etc. GBS provides training and economic support to under privileged people; creates awareness about various social issues; supports on education; creates employment through various initiatives, and more.
Gram Bikash Sangstha (GBS) is managed by a ‘General Council’ consists of 29 members; elected for a term of 3-year. The General Council sets up an Executive Committee (EC) with seven members for looking after all the affairs of GBS.
