Dhaka Ahsania Mission is a non-profitable and non-governmental philanthropic organization in Bangladesh with Consultative Status with UN ECOSOC and Operational Relations with UNESCO. The Founder of Dhaka Ahsania Mission is Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah (1873-1965), a famous educationist, social reformer and spiritual leader of undivided India. It was set up in 1958 with the motto “Divine and Humanitarian Service”.
The Organization is engaged in social and spiritual development at national and international level. It owns the largest cancer hospital in Bangladesh “Ahsania Cancer and General Hospital” located at Uttara, Dhaka. It has many institutions related to the field of Education & Training, Health, Economic Development, Spiritual Development, Children-Woman Protection & Development etc.
For its outstanding contribution in the field of social and spiritual development, Ahsania Mission has achieved many national & international awards including ESCAP HRD Award 1994, UNESCO (ACCU) Grand Prize 1996, National Literacy Award 1998, Independence Award 2002, UNESCO International Literacy Award 2003, Global Development Network Award 2003, AGFUND International Prize 2004, Bankers Forum Award 2007, ISESCO Prize for Literacy 2012, UNESCO Confucius Prize for Literacy 2013, and more.
Dhaka Ahsania Mission is run by an Executive Committee consist of a total of 21-member, elected by the general body for two (2) years term. The Head Office of this organization is situated in Dhaka, Bangladesh; and also has branches in the UK, USA, and Pakistan.
