Bangladesh Association for Social Advancement (BASA) was established in 1991 as an NGO in Bangladesh. BASA is engaged in promoting socio-economic conditions of the disadvantage and unprivileged community in Bangladesh. The association is doing so by a wide range of development programs.
BASA’s programs cover the following areas – microfinance to the poor and small entrepreneurs, water and sanitation, renewable energy, health, education, food, Bi-product recycling, waste management, capacity building, empowerment of women, environment and so on. The organization’s activities are now spread in more than twenty (20) districts of Bangladesh including the most climate victim districts of the country Bagerhat and Satkhira. Bit by bit, its activities/projects are expanding in other districts and coastal areas of Bangladesh.
More than 75000 people have been benefited by various development programs of BASA. The Head Office of Bangladesh Association for Social Advancement is situated at Mohakhali in Dhaka. It has fifty five (55) branch offices in several Upazillas of Bangladesh. BASA has 550+ dedicated staffs in its Head and Branch offices.
The association is govern by an Executive Committee (EC), comprising well-experienced people from diversified background, which is elected by a General Council of twenty five (25) members. Bangladesh Association for Social Advancement (BASA) has affiliation with many national, international, government and non-government organizations. Mrs Feroza Begum is the current Chairman of BASA.
