HEED Bangladesh, a non-profit and non-partisan NGO, was founded in 1974 by some national Christian leaders and a number of western partner organizations in response to the post war needs in Bangladesh. HEED’s elaboration is Health, Education and Economic Development. The Organization seeks to promote national development by upgrading the socio-economic condition of the marginalized and impoverished people of the society.
At present, HEED Bangladesh’s many projects are addressing the following areas – agriculture, environment, health & nutrition, education, socio-economic development, forestry, food security, disaster management, water and sanitation, HIV/AIDS, awareness building and more.
Currently, the Organization’s offices, programs and man-power are covering the 125 upazilas under 33 districts of Bangladesh. Its affairs are managed by – an Executive Body (consists of 7-member elected by the members of the General Body for 3-year), a General Body, a General Administration, and an Advisory Committee.
