The Liberation War Museum (LWM), opened on 22 March 1996, is a museum about the Liberation War of Bangladesh, situated in Segunbagicha, Dhaka, Bangladesh. The Museum is registered as a Society with the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms (RJSC), and NGO Affairs Bureau (NGOAB) of the Government of Bangladesh.
The Liberation War Museum is a housed of two-storied building consist of 6 (six) galleries which display the historical relics accumulated from British regime to the War of Liberation in 1971. LWM keeps most of the Liberation War related artifacts including media coverage, exceptional photographs, documents, freedom fighters and martyrs’ materials and more. The museum has more than 10,000 artifacts in its archive. Liberation War Museum is a founder member of International Coalition of Historic Site Museum of Conscience, and institutional member of American Association of Museums.
