Bangladesh Association for Community Education (BACE) is a non-government organization (NGO) working for underprivileged people of the country for better life. BACE was established in 1977 by Dr. M.A. Sattar along with few eminent individuals drawn from education and human resource development sector. The NGO has been registered with the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies since 1978, and also registered with the Social Welfare Department of the Government of Bangladesh since March 22, 2010.
Bangladesh Association for Community Education is mainly working with Education such as achieving Universal Primary Education, reducing dropouts of students from primary and secondary school level, educating unemployed youth, and promoting educational levels specifically for women. BACE also undertakes programs for empowerment of the disadvantaged people through providing them training, microfinance, and skills & economic developments. It strives to build a sustainable, and poverty & illiteracy free prosper society in Bangladesh.
Currently, BACE’s activities spread at 8 upazilas’ more than 506 villages in seven districts – Bagerhat, Chandpur, Chittagong, Dinajpur, Jamalpur, Joypurhat, and Narayangonj. The General Assembly of BACE consisting of four sections of members – General Body, Governing Body, Honorary member, and Advisory Council.
