National Academy for Primary Education (NAPE) is an apex training and research institution under the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education (MoPME), Government of the Peoples' Republic of Bangladesh. NAPE was founded in 1978 named as "Mymensingh College of Education". In 1982, it was renamed as "Academy for Fundamental Education". Finally, it was named as National Academy for Primary Education (NAPE) in 1985. The Academy has been functioning as an autonomous Organization since October 1, 2004.
National Academy for Primary Education, NAPE, is located at Mymensingh under the Dhaka division of Bangladesh. NAPE is headed by a Director and regulated by a Board of Governors headed by the Secretary, Primary and Mass Education Division (PMED). National Academy for Primary Education envisions to be the centre of excellence of primary training and research in Bangladesh.
