American International School Dhaka (AISD) is a multi-cultural educational institution based on the curriculum of American education. AISD is located in Baridhara, Dhaka. Since 1972, the School is serving all the nationalities’ students in Pre-Kindergarten through grade 12 in three divisions – Elementary, Middle and High School. AISD was established with the primary purpose to provide a quality education to the diverse community students living in Bangladesh.
American International School Dhaka was founded in 1972 and located in Gulshan. Currently, the School is situated on a 4.5-acre site in Baridhara. AISD is recognized and accredited by The New England Association of Schools and Colleges, the International Baccalaureate Organization, and the Council of International Schools. The School is governed by a Board consists of a total of 9 member, elected from students’ parents or guardians, of whom 5 members must be the US citizens.
American International School Dhaka (AISD) has nearly 750 students - 380 in Elementary School, 165 in the Middle School and 205 in the High School. There are 60 highly modern, Western style and fully air-conditioned classrooms at AISD. The school also has 2 libraries, 6 science laboratories, 4 computer laboratories, 3 gymnasiums, and a weight room.
The buildings of American International School Dhaka also bind a Student Center, Counseling offices, Nurses Clinic, an auditorium, and a school cafeteria. Moreover, AISD holds swimming pool, two playgrounds, and an athletic field. Many extra-curricular activities (such as drama, music, art, dance, social events, tours, cooking, computers etc) take place outside the normal school day.
