Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) is the only public university administered by the Armed Forces. BUP is located at Mirpur Cantonment, Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is one of the most reputed institutions for higher education in Bangladesh; contributing for creating skilled human resources for the country in the field of national security, technology and modern science. Bangladesh University of Professionals begun its journey on 05 June 2008 as the 30th public university of Bangladesh. This is the only institution for higher education in the country where both civil students and uniformed Armed Forces students integrated. The motto of BUP is "Excellence Through Knowledge". Maj Gen Sheikh Mamun Khaled, SUP, psc is the Vice-Chancellor of Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP).

BUP’s minimum Admission Requirements for Undergraduate Courses include:
• For Science students - minimum GPA- 5.00 in SSC and GPA- 4.75 in HSC
• For Humanities/Commerce students - minimum GPA- 4.50 in SSC and GPA- 4.25 in HSC
• For 'O' & 'A' Level students - minimum 'B' Grade in each subject

• Only shortlisted candidates called for the written exam. Students have to face a competitive Written Test and after passing in the Written Test; the candidates will have to face an Interview.
