National Academy for Educational Management (NAEM) is a training academy under the Ministry of Education, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. The Academy is providing training to the heads of the educational institutions and education functionaries on education management, educational research and planning to promote and ensure quality education in the country. NAEM also provides foundation training to the newly recruited Education Cadre Officers of the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS). The NAEM Academy is located in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
NAEM was established in 1959 with the name ‘Education Extension Center’. Subsequently, the Center was upgraded to Bangladesh Education Extension and Research Institute (BEERI) in 1975. Later on, the National Institute of Educational Management and Research (NIEMR) was merged with BEERI and changed to the National Institute for Education Administration Extension and Research (NIEAER) in 1982. Finally, NIEAER converted to National Academy for Educational Management (NAEM) in 1992. Since its establishment, the Academy has been dedicated for enhancing the professional efficiency of the officials in the field education in Bangladesh.
National Academy for Educational Management (NAEM) is headed by a Director General (DG) who is the chief executive of this Academy. Along with DG, the affairs of NAEM are also managed by 4 (four) Directors, 7 (Seven) Deputy Directors, 16 (Sixteen) Assistant Directors, 26 (twenty-six) Training Specialists, 9 (nine) additional Officers and 78 (seventy-eight) Staff. They perfectly support the Director General, and manage all the academic and administrative activities of NAEM.
