Bangladesh Institute of Labour Studies (BILS) is the only labour institute in Bangladesh seeks to promote the rights and interests of working people and trade unions of Bangladesh. At least 13 leading National Trade Union Federations are linked up with BILS; these 13 trade union federations keeps more than 80 per cent unified workforce of the country. Since its formation, the Institute has been played a very vital role in protecting workers rights in the Country. In addition to it, BILS endeavors to uphold worker compatible policies and laws in Bangladesh. Bangladesh Institute of Labour Studies is always committed to create a steady relationship among the trade unions, civil society and the Government regarding the labour market issues. BILS also gives emphasis on capacity building of the trade unions and labour market sector by - providing training and education; conducting research; organizing seminar, workshop and dialogue; exchanging programme; shearing information and other services.
